Our First Prototype!

We had a busy start to July!

We've officially announced that Morrow is part of BoortmaltX, the leading food startup accelerator for malt innovation powered by the world's leading malting company Boortmalt.

We have been back and forth to the Boortmalt HQ to work on our product development, and officially have developed a first prototype. 

 

During our time at the Boortmalt Global Innovation Centre our days were filled with hands-on experimentation and sensory analysis. We worked with food science experts and tested individual ingredients to replicate the flavour profile of a control (Arabica coffee).  

We focused on achieving the right balance of flavour, colour and aromas. The sensory analysis helped us identify the components that closely matched our control.
 
The resulting prototype exceeded our expectations and we were delighted with the progress we made on our own first few attempts. We believe this is a huge milestone in our journey and a great platform for us to build on with the Flavour Innovation Centre at the University of Nottingham, and our technical advisor Dr. Ian Fisk. 

 

This is an important milestone in our journey to develop our coffee without the coffee bean, and we look forward to sharing more updates soon.
